Selecting a utilities provider
When you create a General Tenancy Agreement for the first time, you will be presented with a screen where you can specify your utility provider. To select your utility provider, click “Please select your utilities provider” from the drop-down menu. In the event you don’t have a provider, you can select “I don’t have a utilities provider” which will provide some information on our recommended provider so that your agency can start collecting referral fees as soon as possible! From here, select “Submit” to continue! Where your agency has already set a utility provider, you will not see this modal. Please continue reading to find out how to locate who your utility provider is.
Locating your default provider
Utilities via Download
When you select "Download and Finalise" on your General Tenancy Agreement, you will be presented with a modal that displays your utility provider on the bottom left, along with details on how to update this on the right!
Utilities via One Touch
Check who your default utilities provider is by viewing the “Track Contract Status” email on any of your agreements. This will display the name of your agency's utility provider.
What if my choice of provider is not on the list?
While we are launching with the major providers available, we also have a handful of others who are in the process of finalising their integrations with the form. As additional providers become available on the platform, we will keep you updated.
If your provider is not on the list, you can simply select “My utilities provider is not on this list” and supply the details of your preferred provider. In the meantime, our default provider's connection rates will display for you and if you would like to start receiving referral fees, you can select "Yes, would love to!" at the bottom of the screen and our default provider will be in touch with you. Once set, your agency will receive payments from our default provider every time a tenant takes out a connection. If your existing provider then later becomes available, you can get in touch with us and request to have your provider changed.
If you have a question about a specific provider that is not on the list and you would like to be notified, please get in touch.
I can't see Ray White Concierge on the list
Ray White Concierge is referred to as Ray White Home Now on the utilities screen and is available from the selection menu.
How to track which tenants have selected "Yes" to the provider
Where you send your agreements via One Touch™, you can track which tenants have selected "Yes" to the utility provider by locating the Register of Events, which is provided to all Signees in the final email. The utility consent is displayed as the following: "Consent to third party communication granted by Tenant".
Where you download your agreements, please contact your utility provider directly to discuss the progress of this lead.
What happens if I don’t already have an existing relationship with a utility provider?
This is a perfect opportunity for you to start receiving referral fees. Select the option “I don't have a utilities provider” and we'll assign you to our preferred utility connection provider. Once you're all set up, referral fees will start coming your way.
What happens if I don’t select a utility provider?
If you don’t select one, that’s OK – the message will appear every time you generate a new Form 18a until you do. Your tenants will continue see the utilities screen and if they choose to be contacted, a default provider will be assigned, however, you will not receive any referral fees.
Am I able to use the new utility connections service if I finalise my agreements by download?
Whether you use One Touch™ or you download to finalise your agreements in Realworks, you will be required to select a utility provider. Your agency will be able to benefit from utilities workflow for both One Touch and Downloaded agreements. For more information on how to generate utilities revenue when downloading your agreements, click here.
What will my tenants experience when I download and send a utility offer?
For an end-to-end explanation of how the utility offer on download works, please check out our video walkthrough by clicking here.
Will this apply to a complex/apartment block that has a pre-existing utility arrangement?
If the complex/apartment block already has a pre-existing utility arrangement, you can indicate to your tenants that this offer is not available to them. Where you are using One Touch™, you can do this by updating the customisable email to the tenants to select "No" during the signing process. Where you are downloading your agreements, simply select "No thank you" to indicate that you would not like to offer utilities to your tenants.
Can I change my utility provider in future?
Yes! Where you wish to nominate a different provider in the future, please get in touch.
